Let the games begin with the countdown to the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games in April 2018 in full swing. Gold Coast Airport Marathon accommodation

The Gold Coast Airport Marathon has truly become an international event. It brings many overseas competitors to the Gold Coast with the magnificent scenic course showcasing the iconic coastline. The event is held over the first weekend of July with Saturday catering for the shorter 5km & 10 km races and Sunday the 21km and 42km races. With more than 20,000 people competing over the weekend the Gold Coast Airport Marathon is the biggest annual sporting event held on the Gold Coast.

Many competitors choose to make a full weekend of the event and stay for a couple of nights on the Gold Coast. Staying somewhere within walking distance of the start line is certainly the preference as the staging of such a big sporting event brings many road closures and diversions. Blue Waters Apartments is located in Labrador, 2 km from the start/finish line making it one of only a handful of accommodation places within easy walking distance. Magic Millions:  This blue ribbon Thoroughbred Horse Racing and Sale is held in early January the Gold Coast Racecourse at Bundall only 10min drive from Blue Waters Apartments.

Big Day Out:  This popular Alternative music open air concert event is held at Parklands Stadium on the third weekend in January.  Parklands is only 3km away from Blue Waters.

Antiques Fair:  Held at Jupiters Casino, this is the premier antiques fair held annually on the Gold Coast on the 3rd or 4th weekend of January.

Good Vibrations festival:  This popular music open air concert event is held at Parklands Stadium on the third weekend in February.  Parklands is only 3km away from Blue Waters.

Ladies Masters Gold Tournament:  This championship golfing event is held at the fabulous Royal Pines Resort in early March.

Sanctuary Cove Boat Show:  Held on the 3rd weekend of May, this is one of the major boat shows in Australia.  The Gold Coast is the home of the Australian Marine Industry and it is a chance for local and international companies to show off their latest products.

Blues on Broadbeach Music Festival:  If you love Jazz and the Blues, do not miss this great open air festival located in the Broadbeach precinct at the end of May.

Wintersun:  This amazing 50s/60s festival features Rock ‘n Roll and hot cars.  Drool over the restored hot rods, classics and muscle cars near the beach at Coolangatta in early June.

Gold Coast Marathon:  Be very early to book accommodation for this world class Marathon event.  The first weekend of July is always stunning weather and this event offers various distances to cater for children right up to Olympic athletes.

Gold Coast Caravan and Camping Expo:  Stay with us in a comfortable, spacious apartment while you contemplate your next caravan or tent purchase at this large annual event which is held the 3rd weekend of July.

Gold Coast Half Ironman Triathlon:  Located at Calypso Bay this year, this new event offers the opportunity to participate in a professionally run event.  Held in early October.

Super Car Challenge:  Previously known as “Indy”, this popular motor racing event has evolved into a V8 Super Car extravaganza.  Book early for the 3rd weekend in October as we are only 3km from the track.
